A tool for government employees to create information about services offered by the institution, to facilitate answering the questions from citizens, either by phone, online forms or by email. Multiple government organizations will be able to inter-communicate and share information if they decide it is relevant for other departments or institutions.

The application impacts the way citizens find solutions to legal matters while enabling the government employees to respond to questions faster. Citizens can also use the system to search for specific responses.

Business Need: The need for a faster way of finding information about the services that the government provides for the citizens and the possibility to order documents using online forms and to administer this information.

The Solution: A friendly client-server tool to manage all processes, a scalable platform to build upon future modules. The solution was to build a standalone application where the client side would be using JavaScript and the server side would be using ASP .NET, connected to a Microsoft SQL server.

The Challenge
Mastering the business processes, while developing an application that uses a new type of interface, built using rather new technology (ExtJS and ASP .NET 3.5) and making it usable either in a browser or as a windows application. From a business point of view the biggest challenge was to provide solutions as totally independent modules for each government service.

Business Need
The need to create a more effective and complete solution determined the company to develop a software – the Content and Advertising for Retail (CAR) – which, together with state-of-the-art hardware equipment would create a complete solution for retailers.
The software facilitates the creation and management of advertising content. This involves configuration, maintenance, storage and printing/displaying of different contents (with different formatting and calligraphic models) for terminals and also selling products to customers worldwide using an integrated online shop

The Solution
Our Romanian team and its German partner created a software architecture, split into 4 modules:
A content administration tool – data protection, content administration, advertising organizer
Content online shop – enables a large amount of items to be purchased and transferred directly into the local database.
Content event server – responsible for the complete processing of the
content (the events generated by the scale are processed by the event server and animation is created and returned to be played on different scale displays)
Impact player – A customized Flash player implemented as a separate module, developed to be used by the scales and/or external displays to display the advertising animations.
The Content Administration Tool is used for content administration and is provided with a very user friendly interface, with a unique flow of displayed information. The GUI is customizable for every user, thus
providing comprehensive feedback.
The content event server and online shop modules are embedded into one single application. This makes the switching from the event server (which uses a local database) to the online shop easy and fast. Content can be downloaded from the online shop directly into the local database for further usage.

It was challenging but fun to manage an international team and overcome communication issues while keeping a close collaboration with the client.

The technical challenges:

• Combining very different technologies (Java – .NET – Action Script –
  C++) in a single system without sacrificing performance
• Creating a system for creating/displaying advertisings on the scales
  and on the external displays with reduced CPU and memory usage
• Optimizing processing large amounts of data without affecting the
  overall performance and responsiveness of the application
• Encryption, encoding and compression of data to ensure secured and
  reduced network traffic
• Compatibility with different database servers

Project
The application we developed is a web based portal targeting major wireless network operators across United States and Europe.
The portal allows engineers, managers and executives across the organization easy access to their own data, as well as cross correlated data that paints a complete picture of their own environment, the customer’s experience, and any gaps between the two.
It is a tool to provide operators with visibility and command over how the network impacts the customer experience.

The Challenge
The main challenge of the project lay in building a platform capable of extrapolating, correlating, and rendering, in a standardized & intuitive way, the information from disparate point products and data stores across the communications providers cross functional organizations. The platform had to be highly scalable and adaptive to different customers and to different purposes. Our Romanian team helped building such a robust and scalable architecture with respect to business logic complexity that allows further enhancements, full customizations of the existing modules and also development of new modules required by the customer.

The customer got:

• A series of successfully built complex R&D projects, which are today being used by telecom carriers across the globe.
• Our client took benefit of the Romanian quality and competitive cost, by using offshore dedicated development teams. The focus on “dedicated” as the true added-value came in time.

The company has a calling center where insurance agents can contact potential customers. Customer demographics are populated into SugarCRM then automatically assigned to a call center agent. Once the potential customer contact has been established, the agent can request insurance application information and record it into a custom Sugar form. This application form will be passed to users that can process and finalize the insurance request (verification, payment tracking).

Because SugarCRM is structured in modules, we had to clone existing Sugar modules to meet the more robust requirements than those offered on Sugar.

Normally leads are introduced in the system from CSV files, but the client wanted a way to provide customers a web interface to apply for an insurance product and have it populate the CRM. We created PHP forms that used Sugar web services to populate application data and record the lead source, location etc.

The company manages and analyzes data, interprets consultative work, writes technical reports, and enforces environmental regulations after performing site inspections and monitoring activities.

These activities are audited and administered in a web application to create, modify and schedule inspections while providing management tools for the facilities. The solution provides a visual interface for submitting metrics to the environmental protection organization.

The project has two major parts:
● the Public Website; and,
The external website contains latest video camera images, latest temperature, ozone, dew point, wind speed, barometric pressure, and precipitation information.
● an Internal Web application.
The web application is used internally to manage inspections and also to submit environmental data to the Environmental Protection Agency.

After a successful implementation of a pilot project, our Romanian team proved itself as a quality center of offshore engineering services and was afterwards trusted with the development of several projects, the AIR Quality system being one of them.

They have sourced financing from banks, credit unions and other institutional lenders, as well as private sources of capital including venture capital, angel investors and private investment groups.

Project
Our Romanian team succeeded in releasing a four staged web portal which offers the client a complete, comprehensive loan application file that can be used to apply directly for financing with any bank or financial institution.

Employing a Web portal application, clients with commercial credit requirements can evaluate options and submit their financing applications online. Additionally fee-based multi-level services assists clients in their commercial financing research and application.

The portal allows users to evaluate the expectation of being granted commercial credit, find out about strengths and weaknesses in their application so they may correct before filing. Within the scope of services provided through the portal, information is processed as a ‘lender’s evaluation’ with sophisticated financial analysis and projections. After completion users are presented links to other consultants and lenders most suited to handle their application. Seamless interface to lenders’ systems, security and confidentiality of financial information, and one time data entry in an online environment were the goals.

The application is based on a multi staged – data collection, evaluation and decision making portal.

The application is highly user-friendly and offers a great customer experience. The product was developed from scratch; its purpose was to reduce the credit application time 4-fold, proving to be so attractively time-saving.

The Challenge
The main challenge of the project lay in the complexity and many algorithm of processing financial products.

Our Romanian team was in charge of the complete software architecture, project management, and translating high level business requirements into technical specifications. High security constraints, providing absolute confidentiality of financial data that would communicate with banks directly meant that authentication systems had to wrap the entire project.

Additionally to standard business protocols specific federal banking compliance and reporting standards had to be met, the only way to achieve this was to adopt a multi-level oriented approach. Our Romanian team built a robust, scalable architecture that would allow further changes, respect the complexity of business logic and provide strict and very high level of data security.

Data security has been a key requirement in this project, as it had to pass a security audit certification.

The company’s customers represent the largest deployments of vulnerability assessment and prevention technology in the private and public sectors. They protect the networks and digital assets of a growing network of more than 9,000 corporate and government deployments worldwide.

Project
The rather complicated legacy management console and architecture required a redesign and implementation contemporary technologies.

Our Romanian partner is developing innovative tools, conforming to the same high business principles of security, yet improving user experience and performance, by means of modern technological and architectural approaches.

The management console provides centralized policy management, integrating attack-related information with host and network vulnerability assessment data, plus enterprise security reporting.

The long-term solution matured to a strategic partnership with the customer engaging several teams around a core of permanent positions for security projects, with a commitment to quickly scale up, or down, when necessary.
